Roplano Travertine Design For A Country House
- Sarteano (SI), Italy
The Country House project consists in the rehabilitation of one of the typical constructions of the Tuscan rural area, with the aim of maintaining all the structural and stylistic features. The renewal of the exterior windows and portals are made in travertine of Rapolano, chosen as main material for the whole project for its colour that matches perfectly with the rough stone brick structure of the walls. To the interior profiles of doors and windows, which are realized with the same material, there were added solid shaped details. The cladding of the kitchen interior walls was made in natural travertine of Rapolano, as well as the elegant cladding of the fireplace wall, with custom-made air vents. The floor of the entire house is realized in travertine of Rapolano with a brushed matt finishing. The bathroom, covered with travertine, opens with a hinged door in lightened travertine of Rapolano, in order to allow an easy opening. The wash-basin is made with a different travertine type, Noce Travertine, and the sink drain is hidden away, thanks to the removable tray and inspectionable.
